How has the CU Denver MBA curriculum been designed to help managers catch this wave?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Qiong Hu:<\/strong> We realized that AI is not just a passing trend, but is becoming a core part of the actual operation of businesses. Therefore, instead of just adding a standalone course on AI, we have restructured the entire training program. AI is now woven throughout the MBA program, from strategy and marketing to operations wherever there is practical application.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>According to you, what is the biggest difference between a manager who makes decisions based on traditional experience and a manager with a digital management mindset?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Qiong Hu:<\/strong> The biggest difference lies in how a decision is formed right from the start. Managers who rely on experience tend to lean on instinct, such as what has worked in the past or personal feelings accumulated over years of work. That is very valuable, but it can also become a barrier, especially in today&#8217;s fast-changing business environment. Managers with a digital management mindset approach the same problem in a completely different way. They still use their experience and judgment, but combine it with data: testing assumptions, looking for patterns, and using digital tools to see aspects that relying solely on instinct would easily miss.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In the CU Denver MBA program, very modern courses appear, such as AI &amp; Information Systems Strategy, CRM &amp; Big Data, or Blockchain &amp; Emerging Tech. How are these courses combined with management foundations like leadership, strategy, marketing, and operations?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Qiong Hu:<\/strong> Mastering technology is one of the core learning objectives that every MBA student at our school must develop, alongside other management foundations such as strategy, leadership capacity, and critical thinking. When students take courses like AI &amp; Information Systems Strategy or CRM &amp; Big Data, they apply what they have learned to a real business problem: gathering the right data, analysing it accurately, and using that data to back up a decision, similar to how they apply any strategic or marketing model.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>\u201cTechnology can change available tools, but the ultimate goal remains the same: to make sharper, more solidly grounded business decisions based on both data and standard management thinking.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A common challenge in MBA education is how to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical decision-making capability. How does CU Denver approach this problem?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Qiong Hu:<\/strong> Our approach is to directly integrate the practical element into the courses themselves, rather than seeing it as a separate ancillary part at the end of the program. The real value does not lie in forecasting techniques, but in students handling real numbers, real seasonal fluctuations, and transforming the results of technical analysis into practical solutions to make decisions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>According to you, how will a good MBA program create change for students?&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Qiong Hu:<\/strong> A good MBA program must change a manager&#8217;s first reflex when facing a business problem. Before the MBA, many managers defaulted to relying on experience or instinct. After an MBA program, the reflex shifts entirely to asking questions: What data is available? What assumptions are being made?
