{"id":8387,"date":"2024-11-07T16:23:58","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T09:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fsb.edu.vn\/?p=8387"},"modified":"2024-11-19T14:29:41","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T07:29:41","slug":"vietnam-e-commerce-market-3rd-largest-in-southeast-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fsb.edu.vn\/en\/vietnam-e-commerce-market-3rd-largest-in-southeast-asia.html","title":{"rendered":"Vietnam e-commerce market 3rd largest in Southeast Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Vietnam\u2019s e-commerce market is estimated at US$22 billion, the third largest in Southeast Asia behind only Indonesia ($65 billion) and Thailand ($26 billion).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"675\" height=\"386\" src=\"https:\/\/fsb.edu.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/15.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fsb.edu.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/15.png 675w, https:\/\/fsb.edu.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/15-768x439.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The market has grown by 18% from last year, the third fastest rate behind the Philippines (23%) and Thailand (19%), according to the annual &#8220;e-Conomy SEA 2024&#8221; report by Google, Temasek and Bain &amp; Company released this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected to grow by 19% annually to reach $63 billion by 2030 and surpass Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E-commerce makes up 60% of Vietnam\u2019s digital economy with the rest made up mostly of ride-hailing and delivery and online media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most popular platforms in the country are Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Tiki and Sendo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Chinese platforms such as Temu and Shein are also trying to grab market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tran Tuan Anh, CEO of Shopee Vietnam, said the market sees intense competition due to its vast potential and room for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Now is the time to focus closely on meeting the needs of both buyers and sellers,&#8221; <\/em>he told VnExpress in a recent interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnamese shopped for VND25.3 trillion (US$1 billion) a month on average on five major e-commerce platforms in the first nine months of this year, according to data provider Metric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Products priced under VND200,000 accounted for more than half of all sales, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another report by Lazada and Kantar said one-third of Southeast Asian consumers are price-sensitive and actively seek deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than half of respondents cite competitive pricing and the availability of discount vouchers as crucial factors, with promotions significantly influencing repeat purchases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Source: eVnexpress<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vietnam\u2019s e-commerce market is estimated at US$22 billion, the third largest in Southeast Asia behind only Indonesia ($65 billion) and Thailand ($26 billion).
