Breaking Through Management Thinking In The Genai Era: A Special Workshop With Professor Sung Joo Park (Former Vice President, Kaist)

25/05/2026

In the context of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) reshaping business operational models, how to apply this technology into management is no longer a theoretical question but has become a matter of vital survival. In order to provide a practical perspective and equip managers with leadership capabilities in the new era, The FPT School of Business & Technology, FPT University organizes a special topic Workshop: “Business Applications of GenAI” exclusively for Master’s program students on May 26, 2026.

GenAI Trends in 2026: When Technology Demands “Strategic Intuition” from Leaders

The year 2026 is witnessing a powerful surge in large language models (LLMs), with parameter scales reaching unprecedented levels. Artificial intelligence is no longer confined to the role of a routine office support tool; it is now intervening directly in core business decisions. Yet this rapid advancement also presents a series of significant challenges for organizations — from the substantial costs of infrastructure operations and the phenomenon of information hallucination, to data security risks and the imperative of achieving genuine workforce productivity gains.

Confronted with this wave of transformation, management leaders must not only understand what AI can do, but — more critically — must know when to disregard AI’s recommendations. This is the very crux of critical thinking capability and Strategic Intuition — the central theme that the forthcoming FSB Workshop will examine and discuss in depth with participants.

Workshop “Business Applications of GenAI”: A Practical Management Lens Addressing Core Challenges

Moving beyond technical theories or academic programming concepts, this workshop has been purposefully designed through the lens of senior executives, offering outstanding practical value across key dimensions:

  • Dissecting Real-World Scenarios (Practical Applications): The program focuses on in-depth analysis of real-life case studies examining how GenAI is being deployed to automate repetitive tasks, comprehensively elevate Customer Service, optimize product and software development processes, and activate innovative thinking within organizations.
  • A World-Class International Dialogue Environment: Conducted entirely in English without interpretation, the workshop establishes a high-reflex exchange environment that enables participants to sharpen their thinking capacity and engage directly with global management trends.

Speaker Profile: Professor Sung Joo Park — Expert in Management and International Business Education Accreditation

To lead a discussion of such defining, era-shaping significance, FSB has invited a distinguished and highly respected authority in technology management — Professor Emeritus Sung Joo Park (KAIST Business School). His participation stands as the highest guarantee of the knowledge quality that this special session will deliver:

  • Global Honorary Member of EFMD: Professor Sung Joo Park has recently been officially honored as an Honorary Member of EFMD — the world’s foremost organization for management education accreditation. This distinction recognizes his exceptional contributions to the advancement of management education worldwide.
  • Founding President of AAPBS & International Accreditation Expert: Professor Sung Joo Park is the Founding President of the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS). He also holds deep influence across the world’s most prestigious accreditation bodies: a former Board Member of AACSB, and currently a member of the Scientific Committee of Eduniversal for the East Asia and Southeast Asia region. Notably, he has served directly as an accreditation reviewer and mentor for AACSB and EFMD across a number of Asia’s leading business schools, including Tsinghua University (China), Keio University (Japan), National Chengchi University (Taiwan), and the University of Malaya (Malaysia).
  • A Decade as Strategic Advisor to Samsung Group: Professor Park served for over ten years as a direct strategic advisor to Samsung, contributing to the shaping of technology innovation thinking at the conglomerate’s core subsidiaries — including Samsung SDS, Samsung Corning, and the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT).
